While the city is not lacking in 5-star hotel accommodations, it is not always wise to spend so much money on these. Most businessmen and backpackers would rather stay in budget hotels. Thus, they will be able to save on money.


Fortunately, there are a lot of these kinds of hotels in cebu. Some might say that there are actually too many hotels in the city. You can practically find one in every street corner. Many hotels in Cebu are also operated by people who have no experience at all in the hotel management industry. Therefore, extra care must be taken when choosing the right hotel.


So, how do you pick the right budget hotel to stay in? Here are a few helpful tips:


o The first thing you should do is set your expectations. How much are you willing to pay? What kind of amenities and facilities are a must for you? Do you need to stay in a hotel with internet connection? These questions and more need to be addressed first.

o Keep in mind that customer reviews hold more value than the descriptions on the hotel website. Nevertheless, you should take all the reviews into account and not just the first one you see. If most of the reviews are positive, then you can be confident that the hotel is of good quality.


o Another important thing to consider would be the location of the hotel. Many foreigners book in hotels only to find out that it was up in the mountains or down by the beach. For businessmen, it would be best to book in a hotel located in the heart of Cebu City.


Aside from the four tips listed above, you need to make sure that the budget hotel you are booking in has the license to do business. This means that the hotel needs to have a business permit from the Cebu City Mayor's Office and the Cebu City Tourism Commission.


These are some of the main things you need to do in order to find the right Cebu budget hotel. Be sure to take note of the name, address, and contact information of the hotel just in case your taxi driver does not know where the hotel you booked in is located.
